What would you say your biggest strength is in your life? No seriously, take a second and think of all the things in your life right now that you feel like you excel in. This skill could literally be anything. It could be the way you diffuse tensions at work or the way you’ve been consistently pursuing your hobbies. It could be your ability to plan and execute the best vacations or your knack for always remembering your friends' birthdays. It could be your courage in trying to love and understand yourself or your bravery for seeking out help when it seems impossible to ask. It’s so important to recognize these strengths within ourselves. Not only for the confidence boost, but because this is one way to uncover who we were in a past life.
Reincarnation is the idea that your soul has inhabited many different bodies throughout many different lifetimes. A cyclical pattern that has repeated itself over and over and, yea, you get the idea. And by identifying our strengths in this lifetime, we are unveiling a glimpse into what happened to us in another lifetime. Below are 3 examples of strengths you may have right now that most definitely come from who you were in a past life.
Ability To Convey What You’re Feeling
If you have the strength of being able to feel and communicate your emotions - then this is definitely not your first rodeo here on earth. This is a strength that has reincarnated with you over and over because it’s a skill that has helped you survive. It's almost a guarantee that you experienced great amounts of emotional turmoil in your past lives. Pick your favorite time period - things like betrayal, loss, grief, shame, judgment, manipulation, and abuse probably happened in this era for you. It's no coincidence that you have a specific time period that is your favorite. Our interests in these specific time periods are strong indicators that we lived in those periods ourselves.
And the strength of feeling and expressing your emotions is the tool that enabled you to survive these past life hardships. To bring this full circle, this exact skill of feeling and expressing your emotions is the key to help you heal, transmute and thrive in this life as well. Even when feeling emotional seems messy or labeled as “too much” or “weak”, remember - it’s your strength. Feeling and expressing your emotions has gotten you through so much and it will continue to be a built in support system to connect and ground you. Both in this lifetime and all the other ones you've survived through as well.
Ability To Be Kind
Identifying with being a kind person is a huge indicator of having multiple past lives. No matter what time period you belonged to or what era you lived in, it's a surefire prediction that you were not shown kindness in your past lifetimes. Experiences of being ostracized for being different, speaking up for personal beliefs, helping others when it was taboo, and refusing to fight for unjust causes are just some of the examples of past lifetimes where you didn't receive kindness. Yet - in this life right now - you identify with the strength of being a kind person. It takes an enormous strength to reincarnate with the very trait that you were denied and never shown. It’s because this level of kindness is a tool that wields results for the highest interest of all and your soul has known this through every reincarnation.
Empathic Nature
Having the ability to feel what someone else is experiencing without being told the emotion is called empathy. So if you embody this strength, then there’s a high affinity that you have had this strength in many different lifetimes. Past life scenarios like moving to a new country, marrying into a different culture or having to trust complete strangers for your safety were all examples where empathy was a skill you relied on to survive. That's because you didn't speak the language of the new country, you didn't know the customs of the groom's family and you had never met this complete stranger in charge of your safety. So you relied upon the strength of empathy to feel what they felt. To help you learn, grow and understand the new people and new customs around you. Placing yourself in someone else's shoes is a skill that has aided you - both in this life and previous lives - to survive in new situations and ultimately thrive due to understanding everyone on a deeper level.
Know that a personal strength can take on many different forms. A personal strength can be anything you want it to be. The real gift is being able to identify it within yourself and use it for the betterment of all. The skills of emotional intelligence, kindness and empathy are strengths that connect to specific past life experiences - but know it doesn't end here. Any strength you have is a reflection of the inner work you've done and the intuition you already have. No matter if it springs from this lifetime or from your past lives.
